Eventbrite

Eventbrite is a platform founded in 2006 for event management and ticketing that allows users to browse local events and find events that interest them.
Overview
Eventbrite advertised nearby events every weekend. Over the years, more and more activities were added to the program which empowers creators and founders to build thriving brands and communities through live experiences. Online events have accelerated since COVID-19's previous outburst. A potential source of income for the app was the sale of tickets for online conferences and seminars. The redesign of Eventbrite focuses more on personal interests and recommended activities, making it easier for users to find and manage activities of interest in their spare time.
Why Redesign
I always want to do something fun with my friends during our free time, but we never know where to find exciting activities.
One day, we came across Eventbrite, which lists all the events in our city. We were so excited and immediately started searching for possibilities we might be interested in, but the searching process took us forever; we thought other users might experience the same thing, but this app could provide more helpful information if it gets adequately redesigned.

The Challenge
People who want to efficiently find their desired events on Eventbrite are dissatisfied with their search process and results; many users experience excessive clicking, which makes them feel like too much time is wasted, and too much unnecessary information is overwhelming.

" This platform lacks of customization, and I believe the pages could be designed better."

"Excessive number of steps required to book an event."

Structure Optimization
Since many users mentioned finding information efficiently and being overwhelmed by too much information, we optimized the cards that are shown on the home page, adding category labels under each event to help them filter out events they don't want, and offering fewer options on the homepage, keeping the ones related to users' interests, organizers they follow, and events they might like.

Wireframes
To provide users with an efficient experience in finding the events they want, the system will recommend activities based on data algorithms; each topic is limited in time and updated daily to improve user retention. Cards are reorganized and classified according to image, title, type of event, time, and location.

Branding
Logo Redesign & Color Palette
The original logo has a traditional look with the letter E,I redesigned it to make the lines smoother and more dynamic.
The original primary color in the app was dark; I brightened the primary and auxiliary colors to lighten the weight, and the text color is a more neutral black to reduce page noise.

Fonts & Icons

The original icon of the navigation bar is black and white; in order to keep the theme color shown in the app, I changed the color of the icon which could better guide the users.
